  • Americans in the 55-64 age group start new businesses at a higher rate than those in their twenties and thirties and have, every single year, from 1996 to 2013.  Research suggests that there are several ways policymakers can support this important phenomenon of older entrepreneurship. Dane Stangler, vice president, research and policy, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, addressed this topic in February 2014 before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging & the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.  Read his remarks here.
